"Don't Eat the Cheese"
The National Football League coaching great Bill Parcells came up with the phrase to warn his players not to fall into traps that ensnare many teams. Don't worry about things you can't control. Don't listen to what people are saying, whether good or bad. Don't get wrapped up in the league standings or your scoring average.
In other words, don't do anything that takes the focus off what's really important — the next game.
