Omaha South Will Face Millard West
Millard West never relinquished a lead taken in the fifth minute on a goal by sophomore Cody Thayer, who scored two. The Wildcats led 2-0 before Tim Kable scored the No. 6 Junior Jays' only goal with 5 minutes, 54 seconds to play in the first half. Thayer scored his second goal little more than a minute later, capping a stretch of three goals in about three minutes and giving the Wildcats a 3-1 halftime lead. "I was very proud of them," Millard West coach Ron Beernink said. "We're playing well right now, so we have to keep it up."
The Junior Jays (8-1) couldn't manage a shot on goal in the second half, and Wildcats senior Tom Heavey sealed the match when he dribbled past a defender and punched one past goalkeeper Thomas Sudyka for a 4-1 Millard West lead.
